Vintage R&B Baby Doll – Composition Head, Arms & Legs / Cloth Body – 1930s–40s
This is a rare vintage baby doll marked “R & B” on the back of the neck, made by Arranbee Doll Company (popularly known as R&B). Arranbee was an American doll maker active from the early 1900s through the 1950s, well known for their composition and hard plastic dolls.
Features:
Composition head with molded/painted hair
Sleep eyes (open/close mechanism)
Cloth body with composition arms and legs
Original stitched cloth body (shows wear/repairs)
Approx. 20" tall from head to toe
Condition:
Surface wear, paint loss, scuffing, and crazing to the composition parts
Eyes open and close but show some age-related discoloration
Cloth body has visible wear, repairs, and some seam separations (see photos)
Overall sturdy but in well-loved vintage condition
This doll has great antique character and would make a wonderful addition to any vintage/antique doll collection.
